Are Mobiles.co.uk online payg phones unlocked?

I know that it is most likely that if you buy a payg phone online from CPW that they will be unlocked. Mobiles.co.uk are part of CPW so will their phones also be unlocked? Anyone have any knowledge on this one?
I know there is a lot of criticism on their business re contracts but I take it that it should be okay with them on payg.

    Hi Old Gold,
It's not a contract problem its a CS problem !!!
You would have to risk that if there is anything amiss it would take forever and a day, plus probably costly to get it sorted out.

    Hi,

All of our handsets are marked as "Network Unlocked" on the handset page if they are - look for the green tickboxes (stock, delivery, insurance, unlocked etc) in the middle of the page.

    Thanks,

  • I would advise you not to order from this company - the customer service is appauling/ I ordered a phone two weeks ago which arrived damaged. After not responding to my emails I phoned them only to be on hold for over 1 hour. I was told that the phone was now out of stock and they did not have an alternative phone so my only option was to return the phone. They will not refund the £10 top up even though the phone was damaged and there was no alternative available. They have advised that they will send a cheque to refund my postage costs but two emails later and they still won't confirm this has been done. Out of pocket. Avoid this company.

Their rep has used this forum to boast that he believes them to be the "fairest" online mobile phone retailer.

Maybe even he can see how unfair this is, and will use what little influence he has to get his company to do the "fair" thing and refund you the £10. Failing this, perhaps he could see the commercial value to posting on here that purely for the goodwill he will try and get them to refund the ten pounds.

In the meantime, I suppose you can take some satisfaction in the knowledge that this is costing them far more than a tenner in terms of further bad publicity, loss of credibility and the impact it will have on potential customers going elsewhere!
