What I meant was the final cleaning product you used may have left a film and reduced the adhesion. Meths does not leave any film. It maybe that the product you used did not use a film but many of these cleaners have perfumes etc added and so leave a trace residue.
Anyhow, cars are subject to huge variations in temp all the time so the adhesive should be designed to cope with this. If you are confident that it was fitted correctly, how about returning it to the shop you bought it from and asking for a replacment/repair as it sounds like it's not fit for purpose?0 -

The holder you have, which utilises small socket head screws and a hex key is possibly the "cheap" version off Ebay or elsewhere? Make sure you have a suitable piece of cloth underneath to catch the screw when they are inevitably dropped! They disappear down screen vents etc.
The richbrook holder back cover is removes by a twist and remove which is much better.
As to the adhesion to the screen, my richbrook holder has been in place for three years with the original sticky pads. So possibly you'll have more luck with the Richbrook spare pad pack, which incidently is included as an extra with the holder originally, with mine anyway.
You have to make sure it's not too cold when first applying, keep pressure on the holder for a few minutes then leave overnight before driving the vehicle - that's waht my instructions advise.
In fact to remove the richbrook holder it's adviseable to use a razor blade between the pad and screen rather than pull, bits of screen might come away with the pads, they are that sticky.
Yes, the price is a bit non MSE but they do look quite good too.0
