I always have a stock of HM soup in the freezer in individual portions as it is easy to take in to work.
  • I make a batch of veg curry or a chilli bean stew, then freeze in individual portions. I defrost overnight then put them in one of my soup pots with a handle, with half a packet of microwave rice-kind of like my own Innocent veg pot. I tend to get the rice packets for about 50p a packet, so 25p of rice and probably maximum 50p a portion of curry or stew.

Veg Curry, Pasta Sauce, Ratatouille, Lasagne, Chilli, Moussaka.

all tasty when defrosted and suitable to heat and eat or throw over noodles/a part baked spud for a quick lunch.

i bought a stack of the cheap disposable take away tubs - 500ml. I tend to find this is a good size for a work lunch, and they stack/microwave well.

There's also a list around here somewhere for suggestions for freezable sarnies - you apparently need to be careful that mayo or eggy buttes don't freeze well.

i second the sausage roll idea - wrap them in silver foil, then if you get a chance, throw one in the oven for 20 minutes the night before. freshens them up a little.
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

  • Thanks folks - will look up a few one pot type stews and get a little stockpile. Think I will also bake a few potatoes and freeze them so I can just fill them in the morning.
    Love the tub idea too!

Ive been wondering about making pasties but wasnt sure how tge pastry wojld reheat - not sure I could enjoy it cold.
