    Have you got a slow cooker? If so, put it upside down in there with herbs and potatoes and stock. It melts and you get lots more meals out of it.

    Hi cat,

    I think the OP will have cooked his chicken by now but sadly, despite being online, he didn't return to the thread to let us know what he decided to do with it in the end.

    I'll add this thread to the existing one to keep the ideas together for others looking for an alternatives to a roast chicken.

    don't try this if you want proper crispy fragrant delicious aromatic roast chicken

    you can probably tell I'm not a SC chicken fan ;)
