How to find nice areas to move
Comments

Where I grew up
Quality of Life Indicator: "very poor"
In the latest Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) this area was ranked 2,105 out of 32,482 in England:(
Where I live now "very good"
Now I'm Quality of Life Indicator: & ranked at nearly 25,000:D0 -
I have decided against both properties. Upmystreet gave much better references to the area I live in now to the others so I think I'll wait until a better one comes along. I was thinking about renting privately but there are so many risks in doing that because at the moment i'm in a secure tenancy.0

I thought my postcode might come up worse than it is to try and give you an idea that it's not necessarily right but it's just described our family perfectly
I wouldn't really use upmystreet as the only reason on whether to view a place or not, but where you are now I would consider to be quite nice because you have access to green space. If you're not wedged in together like sardines in a town then there's less friction.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I do need the green space as well. We have a lot of woodland here and I'm not going to give it up easily
What do you reckon about renting privately?

I think don't give up on a good thing when you have it. You don't know when they will give you notice, up the rent, you don't know if they will maintain the property when asked or whether they will be round every 10 minutes checking up on you.
I'd be patient; it might take time but you'll find something.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Renting privately can be wonderful but I'd never give up a secure tenancy to go private: what I would do in your particular situation is to take a trip down to the area this other property is in and give the neighbourhood a good looking-over, preferably at different times of the day and week before I wrote it off. You might be lucky0

http://www.uklocalarea.com/index.php?
Tells you crime info etc and also has a life quality bar which is helpful.
Great site this is, but is there any way I can compare my area to an area that I potentially want to move too? that would be very helpful.
I know I can do this by having 2 separate windows open, is there any better way?
thanks0
