Dark patches on my LG LCD TV, is it a dud?

I bought a 37'' LCD LG tv from Richer Sounds. Generally it's pretty good.
However there do seem to be a couple of largish areas of faint dark patches on the screen. It's not noticeable normally, but you can really see it against a uniform moving background, like a football pitch. And I watch a lot of football.
Is this normal/unusual on an LCD screen? Have I got a dud? Should I try and get it replaced? Thanks for any opinions!

Is it only on the HD channels & do you have Sky+HD?
If so it may be the Sky box as the same thing happened to a chum of mine.0 -
Thanks for the reply. It's the same on all channels, cable and broadcast, so definitely to do with the TV.0

I recently had an LG plasma replaced due to uneven screen brightness. LCD technology is different tho, so I'm not 100% sure it is a fault, as I know lots of LCDs suffer from backlight bleed and clouding issues. However if you're not happy with the TV then you should contact the retailer as soon as possible and inform them of the problem.0
