Neighbour's new conservatory

No I agree...just got me angry that they didn't have the courtsesy to mention it!! Also, it's not helped that they've been doing the work up to 8.30 - 9pm, when our kids are in bed!!!
We've decided to put some trellis up to make the fence a couple of foot higher, and then get climbing plants (don't know what yet!!) That way it takes the focus off it and gives us back some privacy!!!
Thanks for all the advice though - very helpful!:T20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

We have this with our neighbours. They bought the house with the conservatory already there and the people who built it, they did it when this house was occupied by an old lady who only lived in one part of the house and they rarely saw. What my neighbours have done is put blinds up, to give both of us more privacy. When some other people I know had a conservatory a few years ago I was very surprised they didn't take this into account with their joined on neighbour, especially since they didn't get blinds. They have frosted the windows using one of those aerosol cans.
I would suggest you ask your neighbours before the conservatory is finished what they intend to do re privacy to discover if they intend having blinds/can get frosted glass put in etc.0 -

I said they were cheap and easy.I never said they were practical.Despite building hundreds of them,i don't have one myself, that says it all really.Better off with a sunroom.0

OK - just so that no-one gets the impression that they do not have their down-sides.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

Sun room with a hot tub would be brill! Somewhere to keep my sun lounger as well, it spends most of its time folded up taking up cupboard space :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0

What's the difference between a sun room and a conservatory? Is a sun room just a properly-insulated construction with large south-facing windows?Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0
