    Just to resurrect this thread. Be careful of the "double excess".
    I broke my prescription sunglasses on the 1st day of our 2 week holiday. Upon checking my policy when I returned I could claim £150 with a £75 excess, yet unbeknown to me my policy was the double excess type. Thus, I would be charged £150 excess and therefore would receive precisely nothing.
    I've never even heard of double excess before so I certainly wouldn't have chosen it purposely. Rip off insurance again.
