Multiple phone numbers

Hi, I have just posted a similar query on the home phone board but wondered if I could get peoples suggestions on here as well, I need to set up multiple (at least 10+) numbers that I can access from home, I would need these numbers to check for messages only, not to make calls, would mobiles be the best way to do this? Are there any really cheap or even free sim deals out there? I would try to be as flexible as possible with this so any suggestions are welcome:)
