Opera Mini will usually work on Windows Mobile phones (I've tried it myself) but it's really intended for non-smart phones as it's a Java app. It's actually the only reason I've not bothered to get another smart phone after taking an instant dislike to an HTC S620 running Windows Mobile 6.
Don't confuse Opera Mini with Opera Mobile which is designed for smart phones.
Incidentally, if you're referring to the beta of Opera Mini that's currently available, it can co-exist with other versions so no need to remove them. I've briefly tried it and have been quite impressed but wouldn't use it as my main browser because it doesn't (yet) have the ability to do RSS feeds or bookmark synchronisation.0 -

I'll add a +1 to that - i'm using it on my Motorola V8 and it's a joy to use - infinitely more user-friendly than the previous version and the password saving feature will save huge amounts of hassle.

We're not comparing like with like though. Skyfire, like Opera Mobile, is for only for certain smart phones.
Opera Mini will run on far more devices because it's a Java app.
Of these I've only personally used Opera Mini. It's outstanding considering it's a freebie.0 -
original poster mentioned Windows Mobile , I use both and Skyfire is much superior on a Windows mobile phone
as you say , Opera Mini for a java phoneEx forum ambassador

original poster mentioned Windows Mobile...
I couldn't help wondering whether rich_shot2003 was confusing Mobile and Mini and thinking that one would be a direct replacement for the other.
Having said that, it probably will work, and might be worth considering if data usage is an issue. It compresses pages before delivering them to the phone so should use less data than a normal browser.0 -
