I bought a new PAYG phone from carphone warehouse just 10 days ago and have just realised I dont have a clue where the effing receipt is. I've looked everywhere for it and cant find where I've put the !!!!!!. Considering I've only had it for 10 days I feel like a right !!!!. If anything goes wrong with the phone in the coming months and I need a repair or whatever, any idea if I'm totally screwed without the receipt or if I can get a proof of purchase (i.e. bank statement?) they may re-print one. I feel like a complete prat not being able to hold onto a piece of paper for over a week.

u get manufacturers warrenty for a year and i dont think theyll do it without a repciet cos they havent got any proof then how old the phone is. try and get a copy but if u paid with cash they might not reprint incase it wasnt u who got it if u get me, if u paid with a card they would be able to check so

bank statement would just show u got x amount from cpw it wont show what for so manufacturer prob wouldnt take much notice

CPW can track your phone on their database using its IMEI,I would'nt lose any sleep over it.

As said - most manufacturer approved service centres can also verify warranty status by IMEI or serial number. If you go into a CPW store with the phone, they should be able to reprint you the receipt from their system as well anyway - I know I've had that done in the past.

did you pay by credit card?
as said above - you dont need a receipt for warrenty repairs and nokia now have a 2 yr warrenty

Carphone Warehouse just checked my name and address, and then saw that I'd bought the phone there.
