Have worked out to reach my target goal by my holiday I need to lose 2.5 pounds a week but Im aiming to lose around 4-6 pounds a week (which is what I was able to achieve the last time) so hopefully be my goal weight well before the holiday
wow, share your diet secrethow do you plan to lose 4lb to 6lb a week every week?

TBH alot of it for me is diet control! I used to be / am addicted to fizzy drinks - mainly coke! I used to drink between 2L-4L a day! cutting that out last time worked really well - and has worked well for the last week. Also eating breakfast (never usually do) better dinners, no snacks, no eating after 7
Then I go to gym 3 times a week and have an hours swim session after every gym session and walk everywhere!
I guess Im lucky that my brother was training as a personal trainer and so get his advice for free :T even little things like the shoes you wear aparently makes all the difference!
I'm starting the gym tomorrow and I'm in a slightly better position this time to last time as my doctor has confirmed my asthma is now under control so can do alot more for alot longer!
I might regret setting the target of 4-6 every week in about 4 weeks time lolLife is what you make it.0 -
Hi there. Thought I would join in on this thread if nobody minds. I am 23 and have been overweight for as long as I can remember. I am 5'2, around 13.5 stone and roughly a size 16. I have always been around this weight throughout my teens and early twenties but in the last year I have put on about a stone after becoming a vegetraian. I think this is because i'm eating more dairy thsn I used to. I east a fairly healthy diet with lots of fruit and veg but I think it's probably my portion sizes, adn treats at the weekend that are stopping me from losing weight.
I am trying to exercise and have a bike and a crosstrainer in the house but after doing 10 mins on each, i'm knackered and am finding getting back into exercise really difficult. It feels so much harder when you're heavier. I am going on holiday in June and would love to be lighter.
Hoping this thread can give me the motivation I need. Not sure what ese to say but thanks to anyone who reads this and any advice/tips would be much appreciated.

Hi everyone been lurking for a while so thought I'd come and say hiya! i'm going to egypt on jan 31st and am totally dreading the whole bikini thing, atleast the sharks won't eat me as they will probably mistake me for shamu
I want to get toned and lose the just under a stone and just generally be healthier. Started back at the gym this week and just set up my wii fit which has been gathering dust for god knows how long (the lovely trainer told me I've been using it for 323 days and I have only used it for 2 hours in total all this time
) and also am trying to stop snacking and eat more fruit and veg. Will keep checking in here, good luck everyone!

Hi
Me and OH are on a weight loss campaign, not a diet cos as soon as we mention that word, we fail miserably.
What I want to know tho (and this is where you come in), is what % of which food stuffs is the best way to go, ie my diet should be split up protein/carbs/fruit+veg etc. I've done a couple of searches via google but I can't find the info I need, hence why I'm here
Thanks x

Slowly but surely building up fitness again. Did 10 mins on exercise bike yesterday, 10 mins on crosstrainer, 20 sit ups, 80 leg lifts, 80 reps of weights on arms. Felt shattered after it but good. I know it's not much but it's a start and a lot better than I would have managed a month ago. Going to do this 4 times a week and gradually build it up, as well as eating healthier. So tempted to try alli but so many mixed reviews. Hope eveyone else's weekend went well. xx0

ohh i thought this thread had died a death so stopped checking it..
any of the mad wimenz from last year still on it?0 -
I still check from time to time Eric. I think the others stopped posting as they thought they lowered the dieting tone as they weren't losing much. Shame really as it was more of a chat thread - I just enjoyed the banter. Anyway, can see you're doing well with your diet still. How much more to go?0
