Hi sjg
Provided you have followed procedure in your staff handbook/staff responsibilities in terms of letting your employer know about financial difficulties ( due to the role you undertake) then my understanding is that they have to treat you with understanding & support. All employers have a duty of care to their staff & I am sure would not wish to lose your knowledge & expertise.
Obviously Banking is a changing world but can you find out if there is option for a change of role?
I have sent you a pm.

sorry i aint updated you sooner!!!
well the meeting happened and my union man was very confused as to why i was having a disciplinary having not had any prior meeting to this and having not done anything wrong!!! he even said if they dismiss you, you will have a case for unfair dismissal!!!
in other words the union man could see they didn't know what they were doing
even i could see they was'nt really sure, all that happened in the meeting is they asked why i went BR
at the moment im working in another department where i dont advise customers and the hr dept said i only have a job there till 31/12/2009 not heard any thing from the hr dept since my meeting.
hope it all make sence0 -
hmm i don't think where i work has a clue about their own procedure for br either! at least you've got a union to lean on and sounds like they're supporting you. are you going to get back in touch with HR to see where you stand?0
-
well i had a call form the union man yesterday to ask if i had heard anything and i haven't they said they would send minutes out etc if i don't hear anything in the next 2 weeks i will ring th union and ask him where to go next
sad to say a big company doesn't know how to treat it staff!!!0 -
