Deposit

( I intended to pay into the deposit point) got into town late and bank was shut., asked eldest daughter to post into the banks letter box... instead she posted into Royal Mail letter box which is outside the bank!!!

My question is wiil Royal Mail deliver to the nearest bank or not? if not any way I can get it back????

I thought they might but was worried as there is no address at all just trhe bank name and deposit!
  • I posted HSBC documents back to them last week, and forgot that they need 2 stamps instead of 1 (actually 1.5, but hey ho!). Phoned HSBC who told me not to worry, they'd pay the postage. RM never delivered it, though, and when I rang the local sorting office they said "Without postage we don't have to deliver, and we are busy enough".

So it might not turn up at all? I'd talk to someone at lyolds just in case.
    Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:

Spoke to LLoyds they didn't know if it would be delivered but were doubtful as it has no address on it! Will ring Royal Mail on Monday and see if there is a place for undelivered letters I could contact!!! If not have to creep round the people and ask them to resend!!

you posted it last week and it was underpaid
therefore its withdrawn from the mail stream and goes through revenue protection
therefore this causes delays as it travels
if HSBC have no billing account then they will be carded
if/when they pay the underpaid postage then it will be delivered

theres not much RM can do
it will travel to revenue protection who will probably send it to an office they know has a loyds within their delivery span for charging/delivery
if they dont it would go to belfast who can open mail to find any form of return address
RLB is mahoosive and wont ba able to find a single item

Why don't you just cancel the cheques and issue new ones. No big deal.

Because I didn't write them they were sent to me so I will have to contact the parties and ask them to resend me a chq. I thought before I did this I would just ask if anyone new the procedure
