SAR received today - I thought that was quite quick!

Anyway, I now have the info to hand to fill in their questionnaire and will post tomorrow recorded delivery with a short letter. I was going to put something along the lines of reminding them about the date of 8 weeks from the first letter to them and that I will not hesitate to go to the FOS if they don't deal with it in that timescale.

Would that be OK does anyone think?

    Thank you

    Hi Sharon

That was very quick. Great news.

There is no harm in reminding them of the 8 weeks as from your letter.
Go for it, I expect they are already aware but still no harm done, good luck.;)

    Hi

I've got a bit of a query. It doesn't really relate to my claim but more the figures. I have some figures taken from the Credit Agreement

    1. the total of the loan
    2. the total of the PPI
    3. Amount of credit (which is 1 and 2 addded together)
    4. Total charge for credit, which is the interest
    5. Total amount payable (the big scary figure)

But I can't see anywhere that says if the PPI was all payable up front or monthly over the term of the loan.

Then on a different sheet there are figures regarding when I was requesting a resettlement and I am not toally sure what they mean

    Quote Unprot - Int/Ins Rebate 6818.47/5911.60

I think the first figure is possibly the amount of the PPI I paid over the two years and the second figure something to do with the loan settlement figure.

    Any help or ideas appreciated.

    Hi Sharon

I imagine it was paid upfront as a single policy.
Even if it wasn't and you were mis sold for any other reason then that is fine, but the chances are that it was all upfront.

Not sure in regards of the settlement to be honest, hopefully someone will come along and advise you on this one shortly, as they all seem to have their own ways of dealing with rebates and so on. (Banks) etc...

So no actual breakdown was shown on your SAR then I take it?
    Just the amounts?

No, there was no breakdown. To be honest there was much less information sent that I was expecting, but it gave me enough to complete the questionnaire so I will send that back and see what they come up with.

I see, I was going to say if you believe more info should have been provided you could have wrote back to them and let them know this, I'm sure there is a follow up letter for this somewhere, not sure if its on the SAR thread though.
    Good luck with this.;)

    Just a quick update.

It is now eight weeks since the first letter. I sent their questionnaire back a few weeks ago and phoned around a fortnight ago to see if they had any update, they just said it was being looked at by Head Office. I phoned again today and once the operator knew what the call was about he became VERY abrupt, almost aggressive in tone. Apparently the case is "with head office" but he couldn't/wouldn't give me a number to call nor put me though to anyone else. He just said there is a huge backlog of work, they are weeks behind and no point speaking to anyone else as they woudn't be able to tell me anything different.

So, in the next few days I will investigate/download the FOS forms and send my complaint to them to look into. Looks like it might drag on a bit, but I am patient!

Good luck to everyone else with claims out there.

    Sharon
