replacement seat for Ideal Standard Accent...help!

As per the title, I'm looking for a replacement seat for my loo! The lid is cracked (dropped a heavy box on it years ago) and is currently sporting a very stylish repair (aka duct tape :rotfl: ). I have found a few places that sell it, but the price is around £150 :eek::eek: . As it's an odd shape, I can't just buy a standard cheap seat and I think the hinge placement is different - could anyone in the know please confirm this and maybe suggest if there are any cheaper alternatives that would fit? Many thanks

at that price i would get a piece of wood and make my own!
it would cheaper (half the price) to replace the whole WC.Get some gorm.0 -
I think it's going to be cheaper still to keep the duct tape repair :rotfl:
I don't think I'd be any good at making my own lol and replacing the whole thing seems like too much hassle considering it's just the lid that's broken0 -
bumpety bump in case someone else has a suggestion0

Try your local plumbers merchants/ small bathroom shop. They often give good discounts on the list prices0

The range is discontinued, so very few have them (and seem to get away with ridiculous prices!) I've been on the lookout for several years for one at a reasonable price and my plumber will let me know if he comes across one but don't seem to be getting much luck
edit: I have such a fun-filled life haven't I ...looking for a replacement loo cover :rotfl:0 -
I have this problem too. I'm seriously considering changing the whole pan so that I can buy one that takes a bog standard loo seat (if you'll pardon the pun)..
I must have gone through half a dozen over the past couple of years because the previous owners put in a bog that's not a standard look seat size."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
Dunno about the shape of your loo but I bought a nice "soft close" oak one last week from B&Q £400

None of them fit because the seat edge isn't flat, it's curved so the little rubber feet won't stay steady and when you sit down the seat moves to one side making the hinges and screws wobble. Add to the fact that to screw the fittings up you need to be a midget contortionist because they are hidden right up behind the pan and you'll begin to see my frustration.
Is a new pan expensive? Is there a standard size I should look for? Does everyone have this problem?"If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

PS they are a doddle to fit yourself.0 -
Hm, that's interesting, thanks Plasterer. I'll go and have a rummage..."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0
