Help Moving From Vodafone To O2

Hi,
Could someone help me please?
My girlfriend is currently with Vodafone. She wants to leave because she is fed up with their terrible customer service and the feeling that each time she speaks to their call centre staff they just lie to her. She is within the last month of her contract and has asked for her pac code.
Vodafone retentions called a day later and they came to a deal on a 30 day sim only contract. Later the same day (yesterday) she called up to make sure the deal was correct and found out they had put her onto a 12 month sim only contract which is not what she agreed.
She has spoken to Vodafone and they have taken her off this 12 month deal and put her back on her existing contract and have given her her pac code.
They told her that she would still need to give 30 days written notice despite asking for her pac code and that if she used her pac code without doing this they would charge her. They didn't tell her how much they would charge her though.
She then called O2 as she wants to go onto their sim only contract. They told her that they can only use her pac code on the day Vodafone say it can be used.
She has already paid for her last month of her contract because they take the money in advance.
Could someone please confirm if this is the case?
I think she spoke to muppets in both call centres and that a pac code can be used at any time. I'm not sure about the charging though.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Barry

when i was leaving vodafone i was told i had to put it in writing and give them 30 days notice so i did and asked for my pac code . i didnt want to risk extra charges.0

Once a pac's been issued it's valid for 30 days. Any other network take take it and use it at any point in that 30 days.
I think what Voda are saying is that you have to give 30 notice, if you use the pac after 10 days and port out, then Voda will still charge you for the full 30 days.
Hope that helps....0 -
Hi barrybarryr, Sorry for the delay in replying.
I am disappointed to read about the experience you have had with us. I would like to show you that we do care about our customers by looking into these matters further and getting them resolved for you. If you would allow me to?
I am positive that we can clear up all the issues on your account. Could you please contact us via the link
https://help.vodafone.co.uk/system/selfservice.controller?CMD=ESCALATION_REQUEST&CONFIGURATION=1000&PARTITION_ID=1 (Please quote the code WRT135 in the subject line and provide a link to this thread in the message body.)
I can then look into your account to see what you are being charged for.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Good move: o2 is better than most of the other networks. Vodafone is pants.0 -
Actually have to disagree...
I was with O2 for many years and after contacting the retentions department to get a new deal they said, we can't give you a new deal or any discount.... Fair enough!! PAC requested and off to Vodafone who even gave me a better deal than what I was on with O2.
Have also recommended a few people to Vodafone who have been given fantastic deals from the sales team.
Obviously other people will have good and bad experiences, but mine is most definately a good one!!0 -
Ha! Whatever. You are conflating an irrelevant issue with the actual issue. Being offered a good retention deal is nothing to the point.0
