49 running processes is an awful lot. It may pay to do an mscofig & untick the ones you dont need to start at bootup.
Anything you untick will still work if you click on the shortcut etc but just wont grind away in the background when you arent using it.
Kerry o'keefe....From my first (quick)look I would untick the following.
NeroCheck,PicasaMediaDetector,Adobe Reader,HP digital imaging monitor.
As mentioned,it wont stop them from working/being used but just from starting up everytime the computer is turned on. There maybe more but you may want to check with the others via Google or the tasklist.org link posted before.0
