As i understand it this law was only changed in 2007, up until then it was in fact illegal to release a grey squirrel which u have caught.
If anyone lives in the North West id thoroughly recommend a trip to Formby where at the National Trust site you can see lots of red squirrels. Some of the few remaining. I was so surprised to see how small they are compared to their american cousins. They really are very tiny and oh so cute!!!What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -

Doesn't matter much either way, I adore the little things regardless of hue and am in awe of lowis's little fella's mountaineering skills. Maybe she could find him a job as a steeplejack. Hehe
Haha yeah! Maybe the grey male and red female decided to friends and have babies! Who knows these days!!Theres 2 types of horse owner, a person who owns a horse and a horsey person

Perhaps there are a lot of squirrels in Germany? - I have only ever seen red squirrels in Berlin - they are beautiful, such a shame they are almost gone over here now!0 -
Go to Center Parcs in Penrith, tons of red squirrels there and the kids can hand feed them too! :T

This is my son feeding them from the back of our lodge
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
Oh, the cuteness! Thanks for the pic, Linda0

When I was in Toronto Canada they have pure black squirrels. I kept trying to get a photo of one but they seemed to be camera shy. It didn't matter how far away I took the photo they ran the second I pressed the button!0

You don't have to go to Canada to see Black Squirrels, they have loads in North Herts (even used to be a pub named after them, think it's gone now )Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Apparently they are going to wipe the grey squirrels out and the female grey squirrels prefer the aggressive male black squirrel to the soft grey one.0 -
