6 months to go, could I reduce monthly cost?

I'm in the process of sorting my finances out (big mess!) and one of silliest is the £30 a month I pay to T-mobile for a phone I hardly ever use for phone calls.
It's a G1 Google phone and I use it mostly for e-mails and the internet and all the weird applications that I have on it, any phone calls I make I do on my work phone, received after I purchased the G1.
Anybody have any experience in getting a lower cost tariff whilst still in contract?

T-Mobile will not let you downgrade to any lower price plan then the one you started with till the end of your contract. So if you signed up with a £30.00 plan then I am afraid you must stay on it till your commitment ends.0

As above, T-mobile is one of the operators that do not let you downgrade until the last month. They used to let you go up and down but have stopped in august i think.
You can ask and state you are in financial trouble to see if they are willing to do anything.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0
