    Thanks Emily
I've looked on the grassroots sites and they ask me for my bank details. Have you registered and worked for them, it is all legit isn't it?

I have done 1 job for them so far, I did the job on 26th April and I received the money in my bank on 11th May. I've got another job lined up with them at the beginning of June. They pay around £10 per job which is quite good. The last job I did for them took me about an hour to complete all in all including filling in the online survey. I have been offered quite a bit of work with them, they tend to email you with an offer and you just get back to them if you want the job.

I have received more work with TNS which to be honest fits with my full-time job better as they do a lot of evening visits. I haven't been paid by them yet but then they pay out monthly so I should get a nice little sum next month.

    Hope this info helps.

Yes sorry if I confused anyone.
I meant a "super balance transfer".

Just after reading this, I read a bit on the BBC website about some chap who said he got a 0% cash advance for a couple of thousand for 18 months, then whacked the money in a high interest savings account until it was time to pay it back...Sure it can't be as simple as that?

You live in Dorset and need some quick money, well lucky for you the summer is here... almost. Can you rent out a room or even your whole flat/ house for a few weeks while you go and stay with a friend/relative? You'll have a grand in no time. Advertise in newsagents, locally or tell the tourist information centre you have room between June/July and see what comes in. Tax free money.

you could try the local hotels for kitchen staff or chambermaid work. they might need extra weekend staff over the holiday period. you could register with a few catering agencies to see what they have to offer, you'd need a white top and black skirt or trousers. long hours quite low pay but you get meals included in a shift.

when i did this years ago i was paid for a 10 or 12 hour shift but only really worked for less than 8 the rest of the time was sitting around reading a book.

It's not quite as simple as that but the basic idea is correct.
Each month you have to make minimum payments so that reduces your profit.
You MUST make these on time.
You also need to make sure no to spend on the card (Martin says NEVER EVER EVER spend on a card that you've done a balance transfer on).

    There are now fees involved.
A few are capped but some are not.
You also need to pay income tax on your savings.
Also you need to be careful about your credit rating.

But basically it works if you can watch out for all those pitfalls.

    What about teaching/lecturing.

I work 3 hours a week (evenings) for a HE college as a lecturer. It's not bad money at all - £27 per hour. That's in addition to my full-time job.

OK I put in more than 3 hours a week, preparing notes/marking work etc, but that stops me going out spending money.

I've just registered on both of those sites for mystery shoppers, fingers crossed some work will come my way. I'm in a similar situation where I need to get £700 by 1st july so I hope this helps!!
    Thanks x

i'm also in a very similar position and need to get £1000 in 2 months for a housing deposit..

its so suprising how much text books go for on amazon, if you see any in a charity shop or car boot pick them up and sell them on. i have just put some up for £10 - £15 because i just finished my course.

Also, last month i made £20 on Amazon from some really rubbish CD's.

I'm also going to try those mystery shoppers... as well as advertising for:

    cleaning houses
    cleaning cars
    walking dogs
    feeding pets
    help around the house
    babysitting
    house-sitting

its got to be worth a shot..

any more ideas do share and i'll come back when ive thought of some more!!
