  • And on Venice - the high charges are for sitting down at those tables, if you stand at the bar (which the locals do...) the prices are much lower!

When I went to Venice, I ate in McDonalds for the 3 days.
Yes, I know - I am a romantic and Mrs Advent is lucky to have me.

I keep opening new threads on this site which have "rip-off" in the title, but when I read them there isn't a rip-off in sight !
I have just read one where Venice is described as a "rip-off" purely because it is expensive - obviously the OP hasn't been following the state of the Pound against the Euro !

I feel, quite legitimately, that I am being "ripped off" by these posts which claim to be highlighting something shocking yet when I read them they certainly are not !!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Do you? Wow, what a helpful post this is. How our lives are richer for reading your dreary rant.

But the Brits are such cheapskates...they want the best for next to nothing.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
  • nothing wrong with being a cheapscate :D
