I worked for a High Street bank in the late 90's and from time to time clients who made complaints got some sort of 'compensation'. These gifts were usually tailored to the customer, eg if it was a keen golfer then they might get a box of golf balls rather than a bunch of flowers.The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
