Re-new mobile Contract?

Hi All,

Has anyone re-newed their mobile phone contract recently?

I'm with Vodafone & have found some competitive deals with other companies which will reduce my line rental significantly, however I really need to keep my number.

When is the best time to call & haggle a good deal?

Is it simple to port your existing number across to anther network?

Cheers all.

Others will advise on good offers and haggling.

It should be simple to port your existing number from one provider to another. You just need to ask for your PAC number from your existing provider and give this to your new provider. "Normally" they can give you a PAC number over the phone and takes about a week to transfer.

    All the best

The best deals are always for new customers. You may be able to negotiate an upgrade with Vodafone with a reduced line rental but this is unlikely to be as sweet as what you would be offered as a new customer. This is especially true if you are going for a cashback deal via a third party dealer. If you are going to try and haggle with Vodafone, the best time to do this is in the final month of your minimum term.

Porting you number to another service provider is incredibly simple. If you are dealing with Vodafone direct they should issue your PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) immediately. A third party service provider like CPW may try and complicate things somewhat by insisting you put the request in writing.

  • Hi Guys,

Thanks for your response, I'm with Vodafone direct & found a couple of good deals at the Link with Orange so if they can't keep me sweet I will port number.

    Thanks for your advice.
