unless you want to buy a million jiffy bags and have them in a box taking up space in your house, the average non business seller isnt getting that great a deal on them. add ontop of that the actual postage, the bus or petrol to the PO and then more than likely 2 hours of your life wasted in the queue 2.50 isnt a lot lol also if it was clearly stated before she paid then its up to her to only bid on items she thinks the p&p is ok on. surely eveyone knows roughly how much a pair of pants and a dvd weigh!
also when you buy soething from comet etc for £15 delivery do you really think it costs them £15 to drive it over to you? when the van is full of other £15 delivery paid items oh for godsake why do we even bother selling to these numpties!!0 -
I agree, which is why I said this
I buy and sell on Ebay and never bid past my maximum including P&P. I suspect everyone is like that. I think the OP's buyer is trying it on.milliejon wrote:I would have looked at the overall price including P&P
I was just stating what I would do if it were me in this position.DMP mutual support number 174Total debt now (April 10) £0! - total paid off £30,221 or 100%I'm now debt free after 6 years!!:jNon smoker since June 2006 :j0 -

That is pretty much what i did say to her. I buy a lot more than what i sell on ebay and always double check the postage and combine it with what i want to pay before i bid and if it goes over what i want to pay i dont bid.
The postage is there clearly so if she didnt want to pay it then she shouldnt have bid imo.
I personally dont think what i charged was excessive and by the feedback i have recieved from other buyers they dont think so either.
I dont add on to postage what my ebay fees and paypal fees are going to be unlike others do nor do i use excessive postage to avoid paying ebay fees. i dont feel that i have done anything wrong. i dont sell that often so therefore dont buy my packaging materials in bulk which would obviously cut down the cost of p&p.
I dont know maybe its just me every time i list a load of items i always get one that is a pain in the rear end :rolleyes:The Only Thing Men Can Do Right Is Get Everything Wrong

I agree that she shouldn't have bid if she didn't want to pay the postage.
Ebay is full of bad buyers at the moment. I'm very close to not bothering to sell for a while.DMP mutual support number 174Total debt now (April 10) £0! - total paid off £30,221 or 100%I'm now debt free after 6 years!!:jNon smoker since June 2006 :j0 -

Alot of sellers are now putting this in big letters at the bottom of their items.. Along with if you don't like the postage cost.... Don't bid!!My broad mind and narrow waist are slowly swapping places!!0 -

Just Put:
PLEASE NOTE. Postage includes cost of postage, cost of Packaging, Cost of Petrol, My Time (At £7 per Hour), Parking Charges, Wear and Tear on the Car... We don't all live within 3 mins of the post office.
If you don't like my postage costs, don't quibble after purchase, just don't bid.
That about covers itMy broad mind and narrow waist are slowly swapping places!!0
