Hi just wanted to see if anyone can help me??
My dh has just applied online for a egg card so that we can do a balance transfer to save on the interest..... It said he was acepted. It also said for a interest rate of 16.9% - does this mean he doesnt get the 0%?? or is it just other then the 0% offers?? (i think it must be the last but want to check...)
Also can i not do the online services till the account is set up? As it says you have no accounts with egg at the moement??
and last of can he do the transfer online and how can i find out what the limit to the amount he can transfer??
thanks very much for reading and for any answers.....

some limit you at 80% of the limit give eggg customer services a call.0

You have a promotional rate of 0% (under which the balance transfer will fall.)
Any balances that don't fall under the promotional rate will attract the 16.9%. (Any fee attached to balance transfers will fall under this category.)Conjugating the verb 'to be":

thank you paul_herring I thought that must be it I just wanted to check (having a baby brain moment!!lol) I plan to just do the transfer and then pay of what I can - concentrating on my cc which has a horrible rate of 19.9% first
I will wait till the card comes or letter and get dh to phone up/go on the internet to sort out the transfer.....
Will be such a help to get the 0% as i can really sort out some of this stupid debt (as in stupid in our case for getting in it!!!) now without wasting £60 a mth on interest....GC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr. Note the promotional period will already have started so (given the impending postal strikes) when you've received the card etc. you could already be a reasonable way into month 1.0

Egg used to be a cherry pick card with rates well below the average when they started out (below 10%) but now they are bulge bracket.0

It's worth saying just to be on the safe side.
Never ever spend on a card you have an active balance transfer on. You will accrue interest on your purchases until the balance transfer is paid off.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

thank you - i have learnt that the hard way!! On the tesco card i have!! grr got a small transfer and then ofcourse had a nice big limit so over time it just went up and up!!
Seem to be doing well at budgeting now and have emergency money (might not be loads but covers if i need a new tyre or something crops up etc) so fingers crossed the horrible cc will not be used for spending GC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr. We use Egg, and are more than happy - when we had paid the orignal 0% balance transfer up, we phoned them, said we wanted to close the account, and they gave us another interest free period for another transfer.
 Well done, Egg!:T
