Made to measure blinds

Hello - hope someone can help me! I ordered two blinds from on online company who make them to measure. On their website they stipulate you send them your window measurements, and they adjust as necessary, so your blinds fit in your window recess. I did this and recieved my blinds no problem. However when I went to put them up they wouldnt fit in the window recess - they had sent me blinds with the exact measurements I ordered. I emailed them and they organised a courier to pick them up and said would refund me when they recieved them. However, today I have recieved an email from them, stating the blinds were made to the right size, they would not be refunding me and as the blinds were my property, they would like to know how I would like them returning to me! I dont want the blinds - I want my money back! If someone could advise me on what my next step would be, I would be grateful. I paid £71.05 by credit card for the blinds.

I must be misunderstanding something. If the blinds were made to the exact measurements you ordered, what would be the grounds for asking for a refund?0

The OP says that the blind company asked for the window measurements and they would adjust accordingly.
They sent the blinds the same size as the windows, therfore they do not fit and it was their error.
OP - do you have the exact measurements of the blinds? what did they say that your blinds should be to fit your size windows?0 -
Sorry, I'm still not with it. How would the blinds company know how much of an adjustment to make?
OP, can you say which site it was?0 -

I would presume that anyone making blinds would know what size to make them from the window measurements - they should know how much space to allow at the top and sides. I have just ordered some blinds and gave the window measurement, not the blind measurement - how would I know how much space to allow?0 -
Am I allowed to mention the site? (sorry Im new - dont quite know the rules yet!)
On the website you have the option wether they adjust your exact measurements or not. I took they option that they should - so surely I should have recieved blinds that fit in my window recess?0 -

If that is what they said then yes you should have received blinds that fit - if you post a link to the site with the exact wording someone should be able to help.0 -

You won't be able to post a link, so just say the name of the site and it can be found by googling.0 -

Did you mark the order EXACT or RECESS??
What you asked for will be on your order/invoice copy. I assumed that they emailed this to you.
You should have given them the exact measurements for the window recess and marked the order RECESS as then they make the adjustments, knocking off a few mm of your exact measurements. If you mark the order EXACT you get exactly what you have inputted on the order. I suspect that this is what you have done.0
