I was in Argos today and saw Hamster rage at it's worse.
A woman was arguing that she had reserved some hamster stuff, quite a while ago from what I could gather and had called in today to collect it. It obviously wasn't there. The poor manager was trying to explain how the reserve system worked but she was having none of it. She was screaming and shouting at him and threatning allsorts. In fairness to him he was really trying hard to calm her but she was hysterical. When I left she had her head on the counter crying, not a pretty.

Oh my gosh, it's getting mad now!

I got the email too, it probably went to everyone on their mailing list.
  • I've received the email, and it stinks that they had to write it at all. Far bigger firms than hooraytoys can take days, even weeks to issue refunds.
    I've replied, anyway.

Yes it is, but obviously it is not my place to post it on a public forum due to the contents and the possible implications of these from a legal standpoint. Hence me offering to send copies if people PM me. However, no doubt some people when they receive the mailing (as they will be on the mailing list) will post it anyway. But until such time, I'm prepared to give copies as requested.

are hooray toys getting any more stock do you know ? or is it just character left to go now before christmas?

Should really be a sticky post somewhere, but Character Online is a tiny bit of the larger operation.

Character are the sole UK importer and distributor for a large number of toys, Go Go Hamster included.

They process all the orders for Toys R Us, Argos etc. and everyone else in the UK. That is their big business, but we now think of them as the major suppliers.

Therefore stock comes in to Character's Warehouse ... they can then list their own quota as soon as they like .. they physically get first hands on the new UK stock.

They will then distribute to the other retail outlets per their order schedule and stock will then appear in the other outlets as in stock (or to be pre-ordered should the outlet choose to do that .. e,g Play, Woolies) when their own delivery arrives.

So No, I don't think that Character will be last chance saloon. It is just the next listing that we know about.
  • gawd hasnt it got quiet in here do you think everyone gone and hung their hamster hunting hat up for good??

Everyone's eating complex carbs, and then getting tucked up in their beds early, ready for a hard day's hamster graft tomorrow.

I agree. It takes regular high street shops an age sometimes to process a refund.

I was replying to someone elses post who said they had received it and didn't know why. I got the e-mail and my first thought was not to mention it here at all as people who didn't get it would be asking questions and the company involved would be bought up again, we don't want the thread closed because people are saying horrible things.

I remember reading the original post and the person didn't say they had ordered so much so that was misleading, just goes to show you can't believe everything what is written here.

Hoorayfortoys have just issued a statement to refute the acusations made on this forum by one member last week. Due to the contents, I don't think its appropriate to post, but if anyone wants to receive a copy, please PM me. No doubt someone will post it anyway...

    It's a really nice shop, I'd recommend them whole-heartedly.
