some people must think that starting their shopping in mid nov is early

My Dad slopes off first thing on Christmas Eve every year, muttering that he needs to "finish" (AKA start) his Christmas shopping.....

For those of you who were online last night and saw my posts this morning, i still haven't had any further update from that company who had the security issue with the registration part of their website last night. It appears that it was the high level of traffic from people in our forum trying to register that caused the issue so we don't want to start it all off again. So if anyone sees anyone posting the copy of the mailing e mail from the company, can you PM the poster and ask them if they could remove it for now. Hopefully they will fix the issue soon and we can post the link. If I haven't heard back from them by wednesday, then i'll post the link to the website anyway and forum members can decide whether they want to go and register on the website (in preparation for the buying frenzy which will undoubtedly occur later). The company isn't sure what it is getting as stock coming doesn't match the volume of stock ordered, but they anticipate listing hamsters after 6 on wednesday and whatever else they manage to get in on thursday and friday.

  • I couldn't leave it until Xmas Eve, when I lived at home my dad and I used to go shopping in London for my Mum's Xmas presents as he used to do it on Xmas Eve and would end up buying stuff she didn't want, it took him a few years to realise he needed to do it earlier to save being in my mums bad books.

  • My Dad is off to a real advantage when it comes to Christmas shopping - he only has to get presents for my mother, and add "love Dad" to the ones my mother has bought and wrapped. Then he finds one of his 4 children, and gets them wrapped for him (-:

heehee, i'm not allowed to wrap any presents :(

i cant fold corners, i cant use both hands whilst trying to get sellotape out of my mouth and i precut the wrapping paper just so there is never enough available for said presents.

I am allowed to pay for all the presents my OH buys tho apparently
