Mine say's the above and I certainly paid for delivery as I had 1 click ordering turned on and it just automatically done it. I'm not going to stop looking 'just in case' as I ordered from play only to get the 'awaiting stock' so i cancelled that order.

It was a bit naughty of amazon to promise immediate despatch, they probably are getting their stock in on 17th from Character so you may as well have chosen free super saver delivery, hopefully you will get your stuff tho.

I'm doing a trip to sainsburys but when I phoned them the other day it was like 'go go what?' doh!!

Play.com update

For those of you who have ordered items from play.com over the last few days.

Some people have got the status up as 'on order' or 'awaiting stock'.

I rang them this morning to obtain clarification of what these statuses meant.

Basically both mean the item is OUT OF STOCK. I complained because many ordered the items as soon as they were listed so how could they be out of stock within seconds...the impression I got that was they were expecting deliveries and had allowed people to order up to the amount they were expecting.

So, to cut a long story short, both terms (awaiting stock and on order) effectively mean the same thing - that they are out of stock. However they are expecting these back in, in around 28 days and then it will take a further 5-7 days for delivery from the warehouse. An anxious wait for many I would think.

I advised her that this was unacceptable and that I wanted further clarification. She said that she would e mail their warehouse to find out and that she would get back to me... I will post any updates when received.

So in the meantime, i would just advise keep looking for whatever you have ordered and if you manage to get it, just go back into your play.com account and cancel the order. No money is taken till dispatch anyway so there is no harm in leaving the order active for now.

If you have an out of stock status, then forget it, cancel and look elsewhere because it looks like they will be lucky if they have enough stock for what was ordered. If you got any other status like packing, processing, and if it hasn't changed back to one of the statuses above, then it looks like you're item is going through the system and you should get it soon.

Well, I have been calling them once a week for the last 3 months about a puzzle game I ordered which is still showing as on order, so whilst I was having a rant about that (again) I decided to get on my high horse about the go go stock as well :rotfl:
