The reviews I have read for these say boys & girls enjoy playing with them, they are like having a pet without the mess, there's no reason a boy cant have them I have not seen anything that would make me think they are girls toys and the packaging is yellow & blue. I have got my 9 yr old stepson a bed in green and 1 hamster, I bought the set with the intention of them sharing it. And I think a boy would love the car accessory. And they are cute they make really sweet noises. lol
This is why I went for them - DD is animal mad but we can't have a furry pet in the house as I am allergic
I have no doubt that DS will play with Mr Squiggles too though - I didn't realise hamsters were considered girly!0 -
i have got one for my 7 year old son but he is into girly things anyway..he
loves hannah montana and stuff like that..we can't have pets so i think this will be quite funny for him0 -
Why not buy a real hamster?
Plastic China made toys that snap off in 2 weeks........no thanks!!0 -
Why not buy a real hamster?
A real hamster is a liability, its a living animal and needs to be cared for, for many children animals are a fad because 'they are soooo cute mum I really want one' and then mum gets left to look after it, or find it another home when they get bored. Its people who dont think through the responsibility involved taking on an animal that leads to animals needing homes when the kids get bored and want something else.
There's also the fact that hamsters, as cute as they are, are little !!!!!!s they escape from their cages and eat carpets and furniture. They come out at night keeping the household awake with their bar chewing and running about on their wheel. They chuck half their food remnants outside of their cage and they smell. Oh and they bite! As a kid I had a fair few hamsters, they all committed these offenses, so cute as they are I think the toy ones will be just fine for my lil girl.0 -
I agree with the above, these are great for kids who probably would get bored of a real hamster. My niece had a hamster and looked after it very well for nearly 3 years then it died and she was so upset and now they've got a dog but she wanted another hamster, this will be the next best thing for her!
Not all hamsters are like that by the way, ours is lovely and doesn't bite:heart: Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies

I didn't mean I think it's girlyjust that my boy has a bit of a thing against girliness at the moment, since starting school so I didn't want to get something that he might say is girly and be disappointed by. does that make sense?
he had a pram and doll when younger, and a kitchen and shopping trolley. i have nothing against 'girly' toys - just that he's being a strange little badger at the moment.52% tight0 -
dont get a real hamster dd got one a year and after a week has paid it no attention so im left looking after it0

i have just got to the bottom of my litl boy being fed up with his lunch at school, didnt want hot dinners cos he got the wrong dinner one day and didnt want to make a fuss and complain...awww
andhe had gone off packed lunches cos i sometime gave him a bottle that had a tiny bear on it....his mates had been laughing at the bottle, but he didnt want to tell us!!!
my litl boy who is 6 has a hamster (real one) and loves it, despite the bites! hopefully they have stopped now, but my 3 yr old litl girl really wants a go go pet, theres no way i would give her a real one....i just stopped her from giving the hamster pizza earlier.....
they really look like great toys, i want to get my litl girl one......she wants mr squiggles...and he wont get jealous cos he has a real one...he has a MANS hamster :rotfl::rotfl:If at first you dont succeed.............skydiving is not for you !0 -

Carry cases, blanket/bed things, the ball, skateboard set, surfboard set.
Hamsters as well but they were 15 quid!
Going quickly though - I saw several sold while I was there
Went to my local Sainsburys tonight to check out the Go Go range But must admit I was so annoyed:mad: Mostly everything was higher priced than the other stores who stock them the blankets and carriers were priced at £4.99 (thats normal) They had the ball for £11.99 normally £9.99 and the hamsters were £14.99:eek::eek: these sell for £9.99 Only bought the 2x carriers and will keep checking elsewhere for the other stuff wouldn't pay the extra prices they are looking for We have got two real hamsters and never paid that price for their stuff:rotfl:0 -
I picked up the following from ;
Hamster - Toys R US
Deluxe funhouse - Toys R us
Car and garage - Argos
Acessory set (bed & blanket - carry bag / blanket) - Sainsburys
Surfboard / sleep dome - Sainsburys
Skate board / UTurn - Sainsburys
Wheel / tunnel - Character Online.
As others have said Sainsburys were £2 extra per skate board and surfboard. I paid the extra as the fuel for running around to find the bits was mounting up, and I have better things to do with my life than chase Hamster toys around the county :rotfl: They were still cheaper than the Ebay profiteers.
Sainsburys is the only high street store that I have seen the blanket and bag sets. They had about 6 of each of the blanket and bag sets as of 9.30PM last night in Taunton, various colours. HTH0
