Hi was in toys r us in Telford today and there were plenty of hamsters, plus the house, (the main bit, not the add ons) and plenty of cars.

Uh oh DD has just done her Christmas list and guess whats at the top!

I am a bit late joining in the hunt aren't I but I hope I can get sorted for Christmas!

I am in the North East so if anyone hears of any stock I would be really grateful....

You've done well to find them, i went in to tesco today, they didn't have a single thing. My local wilkinsons had about 6 hamsters & a big space on the shelf. I asked when they were getting more stock & was told that that store (wigan) has 156 items on order but they haven't got a clue when it's due in.

Just over a week ago. They had the houses on the saturday morning. I ordered on the 3 for 2 and got the confirmation e mail (no comments on being greedy please - I seem to be the nexus for everyone I know to help them get things, they weren't for me!). They were due to be delivered on the Friday at my local boots store (you could select delivery to store and avoid postage costs). On the Thursday I got an e mail saying sorry the order had been cancelled as they had run out of stock. To cut a long story short, customer services were no help at all and said they had had complaints from loads of people who had also had their orders cancelled. No problem I said, just make sure when the next lot of stock comes in, that I, and all the others affected, are provided with our stock. Oh, sorry madam, we cannot do that on our system, I suggest you just keep checking, they should be back in, in around 1 - 3 weeks...ok, no problem I said, I'll just sit and refresh your web page 24/7 for the next 3 weeks then :mad: So basically, they can't give any date when they will be back online and even if you are lucky to get them, don't get complacent, still keep on the hunt till you have those houses or hamsters in your hands. He told me that the problem had arisen because the boots stock check system is not linked to the check out system in real time, so basically the items could have sold out hours before, but be still showing as available to buy. Oh and the e mail me when in stock thing didn't e mail anyone either...so don't rely on that.

toys r us teesside park seems a good place, they get deliveries of toys each day, not always hamsters, but one of the guysd there says if they are coming in they are usualy first off the lorry as they are classed as hot sellers ( no kidding!!) so he said its best to ring each day around 10 am as whatever they have in sells out in a few hours, they may even let you switch over the phone and collect in store.

Your best bet is toysrus. don't know which branch would be nearest to you but the one in gateshead seems to get a few items most days. They have a delivery mid morning which seems to go out around lunchtime or early afternoon. They have another delivery mid afternoon but i don't know what time they go out. They have a policy that you are only allowed one of each item, so if anyone has asked you to get them something too, and you are on your own, then you won't be able to get them their things as well. Toysrus website also drip feed items throughout the day but you've got to be really quick if you spot something come into stock as if you don't check out quick, your item will disappear from your basket. Have a look at my mega post which i did this morning which has all the links on. Also check the argos site which has hamsters (you can't choose which one), the car / garage and the house to see if any of the argos shops near you have stock which you can reserve.

Oh and at the gateshead branch, they hardly answer the phone due to the deluge of hamster queries and will not reserve anything for you. Its first come, first served. May be investing in a tent and sleeping outside the store might help - nightmare, i know...

I agree, so far have had that with email from amazon saying out of stock truly sorry will endevour to post but unlikely and littlewoods moving the goal posts for the car saying out of stock , in dec 4th could be could not be but they :mad:annoy me because they have my money amazon don't so true the items even ordered, agreed, paid, waiting they still don't come, still keep searching please it is a never ending thing but I have the toysrus ,character and the fab persons delivery, the others are pending....
