I would be wary as littlewoods/very etc have been listing stock regularly but after you sign up for an account they suddenly become out of stock in your basket :mad:Please remember to thank fellow MSE'rs :beer:0 -
I cannot help but think that your post may be indirectly ( or directly aimed at me) i joined the site yesterday granted because i saw information from people about the hamsters, that does not mean to say that i wish to sell whatever hamsters i can manage to grab thanks to the kindness of people on here.... they are literally for my daughter.... i am not a liar or a lurker or whatever you want to call it..
I am a student nurse and i work 12 hour shifts at present... i am off today and working the next 4 so i have no time to try and get my hands on any of them, and i never thought for one minute that they would be so difficult to get a hold of. if i get any of them then great but if i dont and if no one here wants to offer any help then that is fine... just because i have never joined before today does not mean that i'm not a regular reader of the posts on here and certainly doesnt mean that i am a dishonest person... i have never sold a thing on ebay and onyl ever buy nursey things or webkinz for my daughter. However at the end of the day its for people tomake up their own minds whether i am trustworthy or not... christmas is my responsibility and i accept that and if i dont manage to get any go go products then my daughter will just need to wait til after christmas!
I was inferring that by posting an argos code anyone who's sole intent is to buy to sell on could profit by the code.
Of course there are people reading the forum that aren't necessarily posting comments or even registered as a member here but they are perfectly entitled to read the posts if they are looking for items for their own needs.
Sorry if you thought I was having a dig at you, but I most certainly wasn't.Went to the paper shop - it had blown away.0 -
i got mine in argos isle of wight at weekend.
looked this morning about 2 mins ago and it came up with portsmouth argos having over 5 left in stock.
Good luck0 -
Personally, I disapprove of the reservations when the person has no intention of buying.
That action stops the technology challenged grannie from popping into Argos and picking up a hamster for their grandchild.
Plus, there are plenty of eBayers on here anyway ... you just don't know who ... and you could be passing on a code to someone who will resell anyway.
My advice ... stop it.
I agree - it's one thing to say such and such a store has stock available because then anyone here can get the codes themselves or alert a family member that there is stock available in their area. But to reserve items without buying just seems wrong to me.0 -
woolies have hamsters in stock now, again delivery in 3 weeks x0

I have reserved items in the past, then straight away it's become available at a store closer to me, so I've reserved again and given the code away.0

The reason why I reserved them is because I noticed a poster on here who lives in the same area as me was asking if anyone knew of any stock in our area because she was unable to find anything.
I PM'd her and said I'd look out for her as we live near each other and if I got anything I could then give it to her.
When I saw they had some in stock on argos I reserved them with her in mind and have PM'd her to let her know as she had previously PM'd me to say that she would be pleased if I found her anything.
But I do agree with you about just willy nilly reserving codes now that you have said that about grannies popping in to argos. xWent to the paper shop - it had blown away.0 -
There's an awful lot of these at the moment and although people have been reporting them ebay doesn't seem to be too bothered- as long as they get their 10% commision
Yeah I'm looking now and there's a lot of them. Most are offering some of the profits to charity, to try and ease the greed and justify the raffle, I suppose. If it were really for charity 100% would be going to the charity, not 30% etc. I suppose though, once people have bid their 99p, they can claim it back when they don't win and nothing arrives! Ebay will give money back if nothing's being sold.0 -

Thank you for saying (typing) so.... i think i am becoming quite aware of it myself actually especially since i realised that they are very difficult to get a hold of... i checked ebay and they were going for more than double which to be perfectly honest i will end up paying... its always the same with concert tickets too... i can never get them but have to pay up to 6-7 times more on ebay.
Anyway i think i seem to look quite guilty for joining at this time (even though i am genuine) .... thats why i probably took your post quite personally..
Sorry if i offended you and that you for your reply.0
