Bless you Maximouse!! I dreamed I was being sent to Afghanistan for some bizarre reason so I would rather have been dreaming of hamsters. The houses seem to be going for silly prices on Ebay considering there has been quite a lot of stock of them, although as you have said not so silly that the sellers are making a huge profit, bearing in mind if you bought for £20 you'd have to sell for £30 delivered to break even.
Yes that's true as there are a lot of fees that you have to pay when listing and selling items on ebay and I think Amazon is even worse for fees. And this doesn't even take into account your time, packaging materials and petrol to the post office to post the item etc etc.:snow_laug Maximouse loves the build up to Christmas :santa2:0 -
Just checked a few of the usual suspects for stock availability and well, what can I say…
Due to the slim pickings available, this time I’ve added all the sites and shops I can think of that forum users have managed to get stock from over the last few weeks (if I’ve missed any out PM me and I’ll add it to my master list to save me keep typing it each day LOL). So even if there is nothing in stock now, ‘favourite’ all these links so you can regularly check yourself. Always read the small print before buying anything – is it really in stock? does it say due in *** weeks?, is it a hamster, playset, carrier or bed, where you could get sent any from the range – i.e. is the picture just an example of the product and does it say ‘colours may vary’, or something along those lines of you can’t choose which hamster or playset (ball, surfboard, skateboard) that they send you. Check the P&P as this varies – some offer free post over a certain amount and some offer free delivery to your local store.

Hamsters only – chunk, num nums, pipsqueak, but they have put a message on their site that they are listing Mr Squiggles and houses next week.
http://www.littlewoods.com
http://www.empirestores.co.uk
http://www.woolworths.co.uk
These websites definitely are the same, just with the individual branding on them.
Just hamsters – you can’t choose which one.
http://www.argos.co.uk
You can check stock of hamsters (can’t choose which one), houses and cars in your local store but no home delivery showing now.

House
N.B. The runaround ball is NOT for the go go hamster.
http://www.johnlewis.com
Hamsters only – you can’t choose which one. But you can get free delivery to your local John Lewis store. N.B. If they get more stock and you see a picture of the ball and it shows as in stock, read the small print before buying, you are not ordering the ball, you are ordering one of the playsets and this could be the ball, surfboard or skateboard – you cannot choose which one and there is no point in ringing up because they can’t put down your preference.

All out of stock.
www.toysrus.co.uk
Everything showing as out of stock. But as most of you know, they do have stock and keep ‘drip feeding it’ onto the site throughout the day. On Friday they listed carriers and beds (pic is orange but you will be sent a random colour, you can’t choose), wheels, slides, and houses (from what I can recall) a few times during the day. Needless to say, they sold out quickly. This is one of those site that doesn’t guarantee your basket so you can’t dither about – see my tips below.

www.character-online.com
All out of stock. Expecting to list the playsets (ball, surfboard and skateboard) and probably houses on 19/11, and carriers / beds on 18/12. No add ons (slide, wheel, car) expected to be listed on these dates. Hamsters will be listed sometime between 11/11 to 30/11. Best to ring them regularly for an update in case these dates and potential stock changes.

Everything ‘at a price’. Read the descriptions very carefully to double check whether the items you are ordering are actually in stock. Check the RRP on the toysrus website before deciding whether you want to pay these prices. However, if you think about it, if you ordered these items online, you may well have paid around £4 to £5 P&P, and there is the personal cost: how much time (think of being paid at the minimum wage for each hour you've spent on this quest) and effort you have you spent trying to locate the item including parking costs and petrol - not to mention the stress of it all. You may find its actually cheaper just to get one off these sites.
High street shops
Forum users have mentioned getting things in store at SOME branches (not all stock go go hamster items) of: Toymaster shops, local small toy shops, Boots, Wilkinsons, Sainsburys, Tescos, TJ Hughes, John Lewis, Hamleys and Harrods. And of course, toysrus and argos.
Tips:
Best thing to do is go onto all the usual suspect sites, for example, character-online, hoorayfortoys, boots, toysrus and register with them. Then if anything gets listed, you can log in quickly and your address details will already be there, and you'll save time and reduce the risk of your basket emptying whilst you are madly trying to type your details in. If you have pre-warning that something is going to be listed at a particular time, go onto the site beforehand and log in, then just keep refreshing until the item appears then grab it. If when you look at your basket, there is only one item and you ordered 2, don't waste time going back to try and add another as the likelihood is that there is only one in there because there is no longer 2 left. If you don't check out then, then that will also disappear... Also, take note of any things in the description that say, for example, only 2 per order, as if you try to add more and think you've got away with it, your order will be cancelled. Hoorayfortoys will cancel any orders (i.e. the whole order) if you try and order more than 2 of any particular item).
Oh, and also www.character-online.com is the importer /distributor of the go go products for the UK so if they get an order in, then an allocation of the same items may also go to some of the shops online and in the high street (shortly after character get the stock) if they have made orders. So if character are not getting any more add ons into the country before Christmas, then there will be no new stock of these items to distribute either. I think some shops have some stocks left (minimal by now I would think) but they are choosing to drip feed it into some of their stores / online in the lead up to Christmas.:snow_laug Maximouse loves the build up to Christmas :santa2:0 -
Yesterday in the TESCO warrington Extra store, they had a few Go Go Hamsters - there was a white one (chunk i think) a grey one and a yellow one. They were in the aisle opposite the preschool aisle I think, and next to the nintendo dog things... good luck.. they were £9.990

I think Argos and Toys R us have the monopoly on all things Hamster in Nottingham
- I've been in 2 Tesco Extras, a big Asda, a Wilkinsons, and a big Boots store this weekend, and not seen hide nor hair of a hamster, or indeed any space on a shelf where a hamster may have been :rotfl:.

I've found a New place which has some stock in :j, but it's only for collection. But you can reserve online for store collection. Also if you buy the Mirror today (£1), then you get a voucher for £7 off £25 spend, thanks to barneydog for posting on the newspaper thread. Don't know the t & c of the voucher.

Sorry I put the Irish link in but have amended, try it again now;)
One thing I cannot understand about this thread is how few people thank the main contributors like maximouse, lizdav and victory who have spent hours searching and posting latest stock updates :T It doesn't take much to press the thanks button;)Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)
