Lizdav has explained, Character have stock, quite a lot of it, but they cannot list it because of us lot F5'ing whenever they are due to list. They cannot physically get the items listed onto the site and when they do the site goes down. Its a no win situation for them, they need to just list and be done with it because I don't think there's ever going to be a good time, but as lizdav has also said they may choose not to have this downtime on their site as it affects their other sales, they may just ship the stock off to retailers who have accounts with them and be done with it.

If I was character toys I wouldn't list because as you say if the site crashes it means other sales are affected. I personally think they should ask customers to join a special mailing list (not their normal one) with customers putting in an order (limits apply) via email and then character can sell stock on a first come first served basis. They would need to prevent multiple email address from the same household which in itself may be hard to set up.
Went to the paper shop - it had blown away.

It may be a case of swings and roundabouts ... when people think Character might list, the F5s go crazy and people can't buy their other products ... e.g. the Peppa Pig Palace is another 2009 Dream Toy and they control that too.

Character will need to take a broader view than you do.

Don't tell me there are swings and roundabouts as well??? I thought I had got hold of nearly everything already....

If I was Character I WOULD list. Get shut of the bloody things, so that they can get on with selling their other stock. 20 minutes of inconvenience (if that).

    Just my view anyway.

My local Tesco had them in store this morning. Ball and sk8board. Although they are priced at £19.99 they do scan at £9.97.

This is the thing though, they do not need to make that work for themselves they can forward the stock to a store ie toys r us, and they will still get profit maybe not so high but they cut out all the hassle and can concentrate on their other orders. I think we got an indication of characters staff attitude when they said they felt relieved they could go home at 5pm the day they opted out of listing. Hamsters may be taking over our lives but obviously not theirs. :rotfl:
