Mobile scam - calls to Italy
I bought a new Motorola V3 and added my own O2 SIM from my old phone. Last bill shows about 30 short calls on one day totalling £4.26 to 00 39 33 44 009003 which I didn't make. Reported to O2 who are investigating. A web search reveals this type of scam has been going on for a while on various networks. Anybody know what/how this benefits the called number since I get the bill?
Thanks

It's an ordinary mobile phone number on TIM, so ought to be entitled to some privacy instead of being published here
Exactly what do you mean by benefit?0
