Sorry couldn't really find a sub forum for this so here goes.
Stuck between what appliances to get and those not to bother with.
Currently do not have anything just moved house.
Would you go for =
Washer/dryer
Seperate washer and dryer
Or just washer.
There's only 2 of us in the house, any advice please? Does anyone else not bother with clothes driers or do you think I should just get one. Got space for 2 appliances but have heard tumble dryers use loads of leccy and washer dryers aren't worth bothering with. Just want help making my mind up!!
Thanks in advance!:j

Seperate washer dryer defo, think about it in a washer/dryer theres two machines in one, more to go wrong, and from experience dont dry as well as a seperate dryerYou may click thanks if you found my advice useful0

Have to agree with muckybutt that 2 appliances are better than one. As there are onlt 2 of you make sure the washer has a 'half load' option otherwise if you like to wash whites and coloureds seperately you'll either have to have lots of clothes to make a full load or will end up using the machine half full. If you have gas heating and/or a garden I would try and do without a drier and use the rads or a line in the garden or a mixture of both.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Two appliances. Modern washers spin most of the water out and modern dryers aren't too heavy on the juice - they have a high kWh rating, but they dry quickly.
A full load should dry in less than an hour and as there are only two of you you won't need to do too many loads a week.0 -
Since you have the space then definitely separate machines. Only reason I would ever consider a combo would be if space was an issue.0

Probably only need do one or 2 washes a week, so thanks for that, think will stick with seperate washer, but unsure as to whether or not I really need a tumbler. Maybe the money would be better spent on a dishwasher or just leave a space still (at the mo in one of the empty spaces I got a cheap veggie rack from B an M and store well, veggies in it, helps me to remind to use it up before it goes off rather than if I store it out of sight so that's got to be a good thing). Hmmm decisions!! Thanks for the replies!Ahhhh.... lemony fresh victory is mineee!!!0

Two are better, my mum tried a dual one but they kept breaking or not doing what they were told and she admitted defeat and went back to having two** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

We managed without a dryer when it was us two and our 2 year old, found an airer in our dining room or spare bedroom worked fine, as long as you don't need clothes the next day.
During summer, clothes can dry outside, or inside in a day.
I personally wouldn't get one if just the 2 of you. We only recently got one because our family is gaining a new member in the next few days, and 2 children in cloth nappies as well as the usual wash load is too much for us to do on airers. As soon as the weather starts getting warmer again, we won't be using it much.0 -

I would go for a dryer specially for the winter months there's nothing worse than haveing washing hanging over radiators all over the house trying to get it dried.0 -

I agree with this. Washing drying indoors can cause all sorts of problems with condensation. Definately, definately go for 2 separate appliances, washer/dryers are awful!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
