Well, an update. My OH called the pastor we want to marry us and he was confused and said he wouldn't have agreed to the wedding if they wouldn't marry us, they've married couples who live together before on rare occassions so there is no reason we should be a problem. He did say it would be an issue if we wanted to become members, so suggested we hold off until after the wedding.
Now I'm just confused where the idea came from that we couldn't. My women's group leader is actually a good friend, I've asked her to be a bridesmaid in fact, but shes being a bit cold over the whole thing, and I don't know if there is something up there. I know she doesn't agree with what we are doing, but she has known he lives with me since we met her about 4 months ago, so I don't get why she might suddenly have an issue now?! I'm just dealing with it by being super-friendly, and hopefully its all in my head.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

sounds like 'she' doesnt like it, and so thought she would try and throw a spanner in the works!
Some people can seem very nice but if they are against something they will find ways to show it (hence telling you you wouldnt be allowed)
I say.....just ignore her...she is obviously wrong, you have spoken to your pastor so you know its all okMarried on 5th March 2010still lurking on the wedding board tho :rotfl:0 -
I can't quite work out the thought process here. They have a problem with you not being married, and now you are getting married they have a problem with that?3-6 Month Emergency Fund #14: £9000 / £10,0000
