A Fool and Her Money- CAFCGIRL's Debt Diary

So what does your spend diary say about it - can you break down the "Food" and "Just Spending" down further, to see what you are actuall spending your money on?
Erm, it doesnt really.
I know some of the spending money circa £25 was on posting for ebay, and quite a bit (more than) £35 was on presents for the bf bday.
The food category also includes anything I picked up in tesco or asda or sainsbury that went toward presents, either for christmas or for the bf. And I must admit that I do have a coke habit. I.E Coca Cola, hasten to add that there. Which adds a fair old amount on top.
I spent £10 in tesco on essentially one meal for the bfs bday, which included two pieces of steak, and a cake
So with any luck half of what I spent, I wont need to be spending again (not that I "needed" to in the first place but Im sure YSWIM!)Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

So just spending is now:
£25 Ebay P+P
£35+ bf presents
£60- "Just Spending"
Which I'm sure you'll find better.CAFCGirl wrote:The food category also includes anything I picked up in tesco or asda or sainsbury that went toward presents, either for christmas or for the bf.
You'll have to try to seperate those out from your normal day-to-day food when writing them down in your diary, so you don't have one of those "OMG!" moments when thinking of how you could eat £100+ of food. :eek:CAFCGirl wrote:And I must admit that I do have a coke habit. Yeah yeah...CAFCGirl wrote:Which adds a fair old amount on top.
Any idea how much you do drink? Approx?CAFCGirl wrote:So with any luck half of what I spent, I wont need to be spending again (not that I "needed" to in the first place but Im sure YSWIM!)
Well, use your spend diary to catagorise stuff. Even if it's just approximately, it'll help. It'll save on the panic too!"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Always there with the answers
As for the Coca Cola habit, I'd say probs 2 bottles a week........ but thats still the bets part of £3 per week I could do without spending.
Was doing ok since I found eyes down for a bargain, 2ltr of Pepsi only 68P compared to £1.36 for Coca Cola............ But now alas no pepsi to be found in my tesco!
OK so new top tip is actually list each item in spend diary to really analyse where its all goingWealth is not measured by currency0 -

And hopefully some of them are right.CAFCGirl wrote:As for the Coca Cola habit, I'd say probs 2 bottles a week........ but thats still the bets part of £3 per week I could do without spending.
In the grand scheme of things, the £3 isn't much of a problem really - but Coke, and diet pop in general, is bad for you. Do you not like any other kinds of drink - like those flavoured waters?CAFCGirl wrote:OK so new top tip is actually list each item in spend diary to really analyse where its all going
You're way ahead of me.
This'll be your "new and improved" diary. :T"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

If you still need your "coke" fix, and dont like that nasty after taste of diet coke and diet pepsi, you could always try Pespi Max its sugar free, personally I dont think it has any aftertaste
Morrisons (great supermarket) currently have it on BOGOF0 -
I've never been one for a diet/sugar free version of anything.
Call me stupid but I see a lot of these things as meant to have sugar in them, without it, they're just not what theyre meant to be lol
I thought Pepsi Max was the caffeine free version anyway? Oh well.
Thanks for the suggestions, didnt have the regular stuff on special too did they?Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
