    Right well!!!

Feeling a lot more upbeat today.

Had a lightbulb moment relating to my relationship with BF and manage to discuss them using some "new techniques" so I'm wholly optimistic this will be the conversation that turned it all round :)

Everything has now left my account apart from my loan repayment, and I've budgetted everything! And I mean everything :)
And will come in within my overdraft which is always good!

Day off from work tomorrow so will be spending it with my mum and completing a mystery shop which will earn me £10 and £5 toward the cost of my shopping so I'm making sure I go with a very short list of things that I actually need, and dont end up buying stuff for the sake of it. Has to be food!

Am also pretty proud of myself for the Lent challenge. Not only because I've done pretty damn well! But because I seem to have helped other people. That more than anything ahs given me a lift and been the thing that has carried me through it.

I'm looking forward to starting the new challenge with a budget per week for unnecessary spending, which will be £10. If it doesnt get spent it goes off debts. So win win either way really!

I'm also now under the 5k mark in terms of what I owe. I think it will hit my mind more when my CC bills are under 1k. £100's always sound better than £1000's!

Excellent! Even more so that you're uplifted by the who experience, and not viewing the debt-reduction thing as a punishment.

Then you'll be debt free after that, and saving for things. Then £1,000's will sound better than £100's... ;)

oh to dream of the day where I have £1000's instead of £100's!!!!!!!!!

I think I've given up punishing myself for being in debt, and feeling bad for being ashamed and feeling like I've let people down.

I'd be letting them down even more if I didnt do something about it, and the people I love are going to be prouder of me for coping and dealing with the situation that if I didnt.

Which sounds so simple but yet was so hard to actually accept. The new mantra this week is to make peace with all that I can never know, and let it go.... accept what I can't control and change that which I can!

If you can knock off thousands from debt, where the tide of interest is pushing against you, then you can lash thousands onto savings where the tide of interest is helping you!

Not just the mantra of the week I hope, but a long-term thing.

No I dont think it will be just for the week.

Plus I'm going to try and carry it over into a few different aspects of my life, not just the debt situation....

    Wow CAFCgirl, you are awesome!

I'm really grateful to you for the Lent challenge and have admired the way you have given out some very good and serious advice always with good humour. I hope you can carry this wisdom over to dealing with the BF situation.

Remember that when you are matched betting, some of the gambling sites also give quidco cash. They are a bit slow in paying out, and produce more "enquiries" than others, but even if half of them pay out, it is extra money for nothing!

    Hey hey CAFC Girl

Glad to see you're feeling goooood :) 3k paid off your debt that's great! Look at the fab new job you got last year as well. You've been doing LOADS. Congrats on the new flat BTW, I am sure it will be so nice living there with a bit of peace.

I share with BF and another friend, computer lovers our house is geek central, with no room for even a bit of girly geek-ness!

I am off to my friend's hen weekend in Alicante (!) in a few weeks so no debt busting for me this month :( And I even have to buy swimwear.......

I wish I was going on holiday!!!

Even said that to my mum today, and let myself have a little day-dream about when I'm debt free!

Concluded that even when I am debt free, I'm sure I'm not still going to go mental and spend laods and loads of money. I'll still be using my slow cooker and batch cooking, using quidco, searching for best prices but it will be nice to not have to think about everything, every so often.

Bought my belated birthday present from my uncle today, lovely pair of red pumps. Can't wait for the summer! Also spent £12 on top up food shopping.

Confess I did feel veyr very VERY tempted by some dvd box sets, but I think thats just because normally I completely avoid them, and so when I am in there, all the temptation comes flooding in. But stayed strong, and said No, well to myself, not allowed, thats slightly weird :)

Thanks all for your messages. I am getting there slowly but surely. And in reflection yes 3k in a year is pretty good considering my salary average for that year would have 15k. So not bad at all!
