well enough of him anyway
Got my coat today, £59 so did pretty well there, exactly the right kind of fit and style I was looking for too so I'm a very happy bunny.
Also got two jumpers today, which I think are v.good quality for the price.
And then got my best friends xmas present from work with my lovely staff discount....
Just need to post some ebay bits and I'm all done for the dayWealth is not measured by currency0 -
Evening all,
Had a wee think-a-thon this afternoon about how things have been going, and how far they need to be!
I dont think I've made as many changes as I could have. I dont really see my debt as unmanageable so thats probably why.
For example....
Orange phone bill was circa £45 this month
Have sky t.v admiteddly only £9 per month, was meant to stop me spending all my money on dvd's!
Still have no clue when it comes to meal planning.
I've got the heating on
Now I've spent about £100 today. SHOCKING
Now I did plan to spend money today, but already I can see that November is another month of going into full overdraft...
And I have spent money on my credit card in the past month. Another stupid move.
After reading thru so many threads, the most important thing at the moment is to be honest with myself, and dont skip over minor details like amounts!!!
None of my direct debits come out till around the first, so my wages from previous employer are sitting there, waiting to get spent.
I've taken my cards etc out of my purse! They snuck back in, one by one!:rotfl:
So what do I need to do this month?
Any advice welcome.
I dont want to give up sky, thats all I'll say lol, its my entertainment. Small price to pay really.
Cancel LoveFilm subscription, even if they did give me two months free! I dont need it!
Now can I send in a cancellation in writing? I have to phone to cancel and they always sucker me in with some offers etc, which would be fine if I wanted it, but I dont!!!! I have no self control
Change Orange subscription I'm under the impression that I can alter my service plan, so need as cheap as possible and not to use it so much!
Cards out of purse this has now been done, I've got about £5 in change
Send final bill letters to utility companiesFlatmate will be moving out end of november, so I dont want to be left with anything like before! Plus she used it so she can pay for it!
Sell remainder of stock bought to sell on ebayI was a bit stupid and spent the cash my mum gave me for her efforts. Have transfer £50 from paypal acc, which ahs cleared in current account. Now do I withdraw this and hide it in New York fund before it gets eaten up by anything else? Or leave it where it is, in current acc, and see where I am at the end of the month?
Pay in two cheques, £33 sitting in my purse because I keep on forgetting!
THE FLATIf flatmate is going to be moving out end of nov, I want to make a start on tidying and cleaning the flat so that when it comes to me moving out, I literally have to give it all a wipe over, so no problems on the deposit front there. Any suggestions as how to tackle this?
Basically I'm asking for an update on what changes/alterations I can make going forward. Much like I did at the start of my diary.
I've realised that so many people have literally come so far because they have been obsessed with their debts, and the money they spend, and to an extent I'm still in the clouds.
And yes ZTD, it is all in my spending diary
Thanks all I appreciate any helpWealth is not measured by currency0 -

Little squirt, if I ever meet him I'll shake him warmly by throat ! and shake some sense into his shallow little brain  Primark represents good honest value for money. But then again we northerners are known for thrift and comon sense!
I mean who wants to pay £50 to walk around in a polo shirt with an aligator on yer tit !0 -

If you've got a BT/NTL land line with cheap evening and weekend calls, why do you have a contract mobi ?
Get a pay as you go sim card, put your £10 top up on it for the month and when its gone its gone ?
Sorry in a ranting mood tonight, another day of suffering fools (NHS managers) not very well
Going for a  more laters when I'm a bit more mellow !!!!!!!

or if you really need a contract phone :-
http://www.mobileshop.com/mobile-phones/o2/contract-mobile-phones/nokia-6230i.php/ttype/1
The above link is for a NEW (12 mnths gtte) Nokia 6230i on 02 leisure time tarriff for £25/month
With 1000 texts (anytime) 1000 minutes evenings, weekends and bank hols between 7pm and 7am....
You can of course port your current number across from Orange to O2 and its a 12 month contract .....
Capiche?0 -
got a contract mobi because it is just that, in contract........
I do feel its useful as I'd rather call other mobiles from my mobile, rather than the BT line, as I have free minutes etc, but I feel really let down by Orange just lately, i.e the bank charges which on two seperate occassion theyve told me they will do nothing about GRRRRRRRRR!
Will find out when contract ends, see what I can do then....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

2 options here :-
Find out what network your friends are on, if they are predominatly on one network consider changing to that
Also look at your calling circle (formerly "Friends and family") on your BT account, as I think from memory you can add up to three mobi numbers on there for an extra 10% discount, usually cheaper than cross network on Orange
Right I really am going to Bargain Booze now I found my F*****g trainers
One other Q ? what package and how long have you been a sky customer ?0 -
got 4 packages on sky, or whatever they call em, not inc movies or sports, been on it for about 3 months.
I quite like it, and £9 a month to watch something other than soaps and chavs trying to sing!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

Oh well it was just an idea, but as I'd had my Sky for over 12 months I rang them up, gave 'em the sob story about working for the bankrupt NHS, job loss inpending etc, and VIOLA got six months free !
Just finished that and now upgraded to a SKY+ box .....
Again, once your contract is up, analyse your tv watching and Freeview maybe an option .....0 -
can't get freeview in this area.
That was my first point of call before sky.Wealth is not measured by currency0
