I am thinking of changing to Tiscalli as I'm paying £24.99 with AOL Gold which is 1meg. Tiscalli is £14.99. Is there a down side to tiscalli?

customer services are crap but if your connection works ok then you don't need to use them.
I'm with Tiscali and have no problems, been with them 3 years.0 -

Ermm Yes, read the forums, not the best isp out there, read carefully their T & C, and also their "Fair Use Policy" although they advertise as "Unlimited Downloads" it isn't.
See what their customers are saying about them.

AOL are on the slide see: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/05/04/aol_financials/
Where as Tiscali continue to grow: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/05/12/tiscali_million/
So they must be doing something right.
Also for another £5 a month (£19.99p) their give you 2mb,and unlimited UK Calls 24/7 to 01/02 numbers.0 -
Both are cr*p.
Try Googling 'Tiscali+complaints' and see what most people think of them
Wouldn't toiuch either with a barge pole.0 -
oh, and visit http://www.adslguide.org.uk/ if you want free unbiased reports on all broadband providers - excellent in my humble opinion.0

tiscali only grow, as people are drawn in over their constent advertising, and stupidly cheap prices..... plus they use datastream, which is not reliable at all0

I'm paying 15.99 with AOL and haven't had any problems so far. I'm sure if you called them and said you were thinking of leaving, they'll do you a better deal. £24.99 with AOL sounds like one of the older contracts.0

wouldnt touch either with a bargepole0
