Upgrading my mobile phone

I spoke to Orange at 10.45 today and asked what they could offer me to keep my contract with them. 1st offer was 600 mins unlimited texts £125 for the phone I wanted (Samsung Tocco Ultra Black) at £35 for 18 months of course I said no. I was passed to another department, 2nd offer was 600 mins unlimited texts the Tocco phone at £65 and £30 for 18 months, still said no. I was passed to another department who offered 900 mins unlimited texts and the Tocco for £15 I said I would think about it. I rang back at 7.15pm to accept the last offer but the person I spoke to said they would have another look at what they could offer. I have got 1200 mins any network, any time, unlimited texts, unlimited internet access and the Tocco free on an 18 month contract. How do they work these contracts out?

Orange are strange creatures, it has to be said.

I was with them from 97 until last month, and they pulled every Rabbit out of the hat to keep my custom, ie, they gave me 2000 bonus minutes for the life of the contract, the phones I wanted at no cost to me, and generally whatever else I asked for, this was until I saw the light.

I then discovered there was a life away from Orange, and quickly decided to move my business some place else, that would pay for itself on my regular trips to South Africa, eg, Orange charge 50p per message to SMS the UK, my new contract allows me to send 125 SMS's to the UK for free, so I save £62.50 immediately!!

Orange would not allow me to take my home tarrif and use overseas, but my new provider does, they seemed not one bit interested when I asked them for the PAC code last month to move my number, not once did they fight for my custom, so their loss, my gain. I find them quite expensive, they do things that best fits to them, and you either get good Customer Service, or you don't...........total disaster when they decided to have a Mumbai Calling Center, what was that all about?

They then took 0500 and 0800 numbers from you, and made them chargeable, and no matter how much you disputed your bill, you were told to either cough up, or face the consequences.

I also hated the idea that they branded a perfectly good handset with their own trademark, and put their own features on it, thus making the handset different from someone who would have it on another network.

Now they want to merge with T-Mobile..............hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, say no more, you don't need to be Mystic Meg to predict the out-come of this little farce.

I hope you enjoy your new Tacco, you did make a good choice of phone in the end, shame you had the messing around to get to what you wanted in the first place.
