Liz Earle New Perfume

• I also received my bottle of Liz Earle's Botanical Essence No.1 this morning and I totally agree that it is nothing like any of the fragrances in her other products, I too got a headache wearing it and am now selling mine on Ebay.
It smells quite flowery and powdery to me but with something quite heavy probably one of the base notes, really not my thing.
I wear Aveda's purefumes and at the Chester branch they actually tailor it to you with whatever ever essential oils you love, I love fresh, natural fragrances and the Liz Earle fragrance is far from fresh and oddly enough as it is 98% natural it does not smell natural.

I won a free sample of this and tried it at the weekend. It almost made me sick to begin with, it did improve slightly but not enough to stop me throwing it out. Their customer services are excellent and when I emailed them to tell them the moisturiser I ordered wasn't agreeing with my skin, they sent me a freepost envelope to send it back in, even though I had already opened it (they said that didn't matter) so I would email them and see what they say.

Glad it's not just me!

Its eau de perfume not parfum which has the highest oil to alcohol content. Perfume comes in edc, edt, edp and parfum. Edp is usually 80% alcohol to 20% fragrance oils.

Perfume never never never buy without testing it first.
You read the notes and decide what you think it will smell like but your skin type etc plays a really bit part in it all.

LE would have been so much better sending out scratch and sniff cards. Saved disappointment and buying unsuitable product.

Send it back.

I would never normally buy perfume without trying it, I think I just got overexcited becasue it's Liz Earle and I love her stuff! I'm going to email customer services now and see if I can return it for a refund.

There are five of them on ebay at the moment, more to follow I imagine.

Comments from sellers is tried once or twice not for me.

QVC will have it this weekend, better from them as at least you can return under the 30 day money back guarantee.
• I sent a complaint to Liz Earle's website about the perfume and have just received email confirmation that I can get a refund on return of the perfume, very impressed with Liz Earle's customer service.

Can I ask which email address you contacted them on and how long it took them to respond? I've emailed them twice now and had no reply at all.
• The email address I sent my complaint to was naturallyactive@lizearle.com but the reply came from ccare@lizearle.com . It took a couple of days to get a reply though.
Hope you get the same result as me.

I was going to say, stick it on eBay! Perfumes always do pretty well, especially if you've only sprayed it once! Just don't mention how much you hate the smell... ;)

LE team's argument is that they 'thought about scented cards' but their perfume is too complex to translate into a sample properly and people would have only got the top notes. How come every other perfume translates into samples! A vague idea would have been better than nothing!
So silly to send out those fancy cards saying you could buy it but not including even a spray of it to smell!
I've smelled it now and really like it, but it looks like it's a love or hate one there's gonna be loads of it on Ebay!

Well I got a reply from Liz Earle and they are sending me a pre-paid address label so I can send the perfume back for a full refund, so really can't complain.
