Mobile Contract Refusal
Hi all I’m looking for some assistance in a problem I have at the moment, well it’s my wife’s problem not mine.
She phoned Phones4u on Saturday to take out her first ever contract phone on o2 network. She has been an o2 PAYG customer since owning a phone (approx 10 years) and she uses o2 as it’s the best coverage where we live so another network isn’t really an option. Anyway she phoned to get one only to be rejected due to bad credit rating. Now we can’t work this out as she has a regular income, pays her credit cards off in full every month, never had any debt, and we have a joint mortgage. We got married 8 weeks ago, would the change of name have anything to do with her being rejected?
As you can imagine she is more than annoyed, and not being able to find out why is only adding to her frustrations. She has carried out a free credit check but awaiting access to the report. Once she gets this what does she do about it?
Any assitance/advice would be greatly appreciated

Not a lot you can do with out the credit report.
Any credit check only give a score to the company asking for it. It's up the them if they then want you as a customer.0 -
How many credit cards has she got? Having too much credit can go against you.
Also how long have you been at your current address? Is she on the voters roll?Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
I'm with o2 and they are notorious for turning people down. There seemed to be a spate of it at one point. I was only allowed a contract if I paid a £100 deposit. They said they couldn't find any evidence that I was living at my current address. I had been at that address for 4 years, had been on the electoral register since day one and had never been refused credit before so I am not sure where the problem lay.0
