Any tricks for getting 0% on an existing card?

MBNA don't allow BTs between their own accounts in my experience0
-
Have about £6000 on a 0% deal that is due to end in Dec.
Cannot take out a new card.
Have a few existing cards, all with £0 balance. Have rung a couple, and the best deal so far is 2.5% transfer fee with 6.9% for the life of the balance.
Obviously would like another 0% deal if possible.
Don't want to jump into anything too quickly as have more than a month left on 0% but want to be prepared and get it sorted before the 0% deal runs out obviously.
Wondered if it was likely that credit card companies would start offering 0% deals with Xmas coming up.
Any suggestions for getting a better deal would be welcomed.
~Thanks
No tricks. Run your account well and like me you will receive regular excellent 0% offers. I have about 4 offers on my Virgin card up until Aug 10 and BC Cashback up until Sept 10. Both o%. with the usual fee between 2.5 and 3%0 -
Does that mean Virgin are likely to offer me a follow on 0% deal or will I need to move the money first?0
-
Yes, you would be in a much stronger position to negotiate, once you've paid off the balance either yourself or courtesy of another 0% BT cardDoes that mean Virgin are likely to offer me a follow on 0% deal or will I need to move the money first?

Thanks thought so but that brings be back to the original problem!!0

MBNA have offered me 0% until July 2010. As I can't transfer from Virgin to MBNA I can put the money into my bank - up to £10000 with a 4% fee.
Seems ok, can someone advise me if this is the way to go to pay off my £6000 Virgin card - the 0% on that comes to an end in Dec.
Should I hang on a bit longer or grab this deal?
Thanks.0 -
I'd take it now if I was you. Did it come from customer loyalty on the number I gave you earlier in the thread? If not, give them a ring to see if they can 'tweak' the fee.
Otherwise take it, it's a good deal.
Just a thought...do you have an Egg card, either the Egg Card or Egg Money card?0 -
It wasn't it was the number on the back of the card. Will try them as well though.
no have no egg cards.0 -
Rang the number you gave they offered me 1.9% for 9 months with a 4% fee, when I haggled they then offered me 0% until April with 4% fee, then 0% until July after I pressed them, but put me under pressure by saying "that deal is for today only it might not be there tomorrow!"0

When I rang marbles they said they are not doing any balance transfers - company policy- and they haven't done any for the past month.
Anyone know why?0
