Any tricks for getting 0% on an existing card?

in Credit cards
Have about £6000 on a 0% deal that is due to end in Dec.
Cannot take out a new card.
Have a few existing cards, all with £0 balance. Have rung a couple, and the best deal so far is 2.5% transfer fee with 6.9% for the life of the balance.
Obviously would like another 0% deal if possible.
Don't want to jump into anything too quickly as have more than a month left on 0% but want to be prepared and get it sorted before the 0% deal runs out obviously.
Wondered if it was likely that credit card companies would start offering 0% deals with Xmas coming up.
Any suggestions for getting a better deal would be welcomed.
~Thanks

Which one??
the £6000 is currently with Virgin, the Deal is with Barclaycard.0 -
-
Halifax they offered me 3% fee with 2.9% interest0
-
have Abbey and Santander too - all with nothing on them.0

No experience with Barclaycard, but Halifax offered me 0% for 6 months with a 3% fee recently when I asked to close the account.
Is the Abbey card an old one run by MBNA? If so, that's a possible for a decent offer. Santander have also been known to give decent offers recently.
You'll probably find though, that asking to close accounts will usually bring about their best offer, but a word of warning...they sometimes don't and your card is closed before you've chance to say "hang on...", so if you aren't prepared to go down that route be careful.0 -
(Virgin and Barclaycard are OH cards but we deal with our finances jointly)
I also have MBNA and marbles. (forgot about them!).
Seems like a lot but took them out for the 0% deals and have hardly used them since.
I do wonder about closing some down, but as I am not working at the moment wouldn't be able to open any more instead which is why I am looking to get a good deal with an existing one.0 -

Just a thought before I ring them, isn't Virgin an MBNA card? If so would they let me transfer the debt from Virgin to MBNA anyway?0
