Just had this comment from a buyer who is claiming his item didn't arive, and wants another. Funny how he knows what service it was sent by eh.:mad::mad:
I will have to refund but no way I'm sending another. Grrrrr.

Jumping the gun? If they didn't sign for anything then it would be fair to assume it came normal mail?

Looks like they are telling porkies. But Payapl don't care sadly. But if you got a proof of posting make a claim through RM. Don't accept stamps. As an ebay seller I have always had a cheque back from them.0 -
I agree. If the buyer claims its not arrived then make a claim.0

I'd be fuming, how long has he waited? Is it the max lengh of time before you can put a claim in to royal mail? It reallydoesn't seem right that royal mail should pay when they did in fact deliver it. But I also don't think you should be out of pocket either. Why do some many dishonest people use ebay. For thousands of people this Christmas, their must-have gift is far more vital than the latest gadget or toy – it’s blood. Please don’t let the festivities and cold weather prevent you from giving them the ultimate gift… give blood.0

But what else can you do? If the buyer says the item has not arrived then you have to assume it hasn't because thats exactly what paypal will do. Therefore you have no choice but to put in a claim to Royal Mail for the lost item. Thats why sometimes especially with anything over a fiver its worth paying 75p for recorded because at least you have a chance of finding out if its really been delivered. I have never ever had a recorded Ebay item lost in the post but had plenty of non-recorded lost.0 -
The trouble with recorded is that, more often than not, the postie either doesn't get a signature, or the system doesn't record that they got a signature. I do budget for a certain proportion to go missing, but when buyers are so blatantly lying it's just a tad annoying! They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

Correct me if i'm wrong but wouldn't the buyer know which service it was sent by when they selected which service they wanted or when you selected what options could be available, for example 1st class standard post, or 1st class recorded post.?
Whatever you have put on your listing is what he will know you have sent it by.
Sometimes people select Sellers Standard rate.. but people assume that does not include recorded delivery anyway unless it is otherwise stated in the listing so he could just assume that he knows
