Have just purchased this great piece of software for £14.99.
You select the genre of music you like it then finds the appropriate station and starts ripping to MP3. Left it on a station last night and have already got over 75 tracks!
Download the trial version and try it. You will then get an email from Avanquest giving you £5 off the purchase price.
This must be the bargain of the year and all legal.
Here's the link folks:

PS I have no connection with Avanquest.
Enjoy!

I suppose that depends on the quality of the tracks being played through the radio station? I'm currently recording a techno set from a radio on shoutcast. The bitrate of the tracks is 192kbps and recording directly into Soundforge.
It saves it as wav (or MP3 if you decide) but I prefer to save as WAV so the highest quality is recorded then can convert it to 392kbps MP3 (nearly same quality as WAV but much smaller) Obvously you can't get a higher bitrate of the radio songs, but by doing it this way you ensure its still at its best qualityDebt at highest - £2,872!
Current Debt - £2,221
Total in savings tin = £21.59 :rotfl:0 -
I just cannot see how you pay a set amount and you can download so much more music than the outlay by a massive amount, and also I think this works as a grabber why not download direct.
I may be completely off on the last bit though (grabber)0 -
Well they think its legal as long as its for personal use only

I suppose its just like recording music from a radio station by a tape cassette years ago.0 -
Ah yes those were the days.Finger poised on the pause button so you didn't get Alan Freeman's voice.
My dad's still got reel to reel tapes of the top 40 from the Sixties.
Look how far technology has come.0 -
If only someone could figure out how to capture the BBC's 'Listen Again' shows as fast as they can be downloaded on broadband, then automatically moved onto the Ipod!0

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ that will record but whilst the sound is coming out so it takes as long as the show or performance and you will need the lame file to save as mp3.0
