This is the down side of ordering from America, Most of Europe is ok to order from beacuse its in the European Union and you wont be charged customs but from America it happens often, if your going to buy from America ask the seller if they will mark as 'Gift' or below $10 as offten we have had things held up for up to 2 weeks and then charge you about £18 (£10) handleing fee, if they use Fedex then your items will get there quickly then you will receive a Bill afterwards :mad:0

The fact that your asking the seller to do something illegal means most won't. You can order things £18 or less without paying VAT. I have bought items upwards of £50 without having to pay to import them. It just depends what the items are and how customs are. If you buy from the US just figure VAT into your purchase and if you have to pay it then its not a shock.0 -

If you ask around you will be very surprised, we deal with a great deal of American Sellers and havent come accross a single seller on eBay that has said No to this request, at the end of the day business is business and most people are in it for the money rather than some kind of moral value.0 -

Maybe you should have read what I said. I didn't say its immoral I said its illegal. You take the risk as the seller and buyer if you do this as its tax evasion and we all know what the HMRC think of this and I assume the US equivalent have similar feelings.0 -

Apart from the morality/legality issues many senders will not under-declare as this figure would be used for an insurance claim. Declare it as 10 dollars and it goes missing it is the sender who would lose out.0
